TESLA 3000 Multi-timeframe Power System Recorder

TESLA is a multi-timeframe power system disturbance fault recorder that simultaneously provides fault oscillography, dynamic swing recording and event logging. TESLA 3000 adds the ability to combine multiple recorders into a larger virtual unit via Ethernet communications.
  • 36 analog/64 external input channels, 1000 record storage capacity. Up to four recorders can be operated as a cooperative group to achieve greater numbers of channels
  • Up to 150 virtual channels, provides cost efficiency & flexibility.
  • Transient Faults – User selectable 32, 64, 96,128,256 and 384 samples/cycle oscillography, up to 10 second records.
  • Dynamic Swings - 1 sample/cycle, up to 30 minute records.
  • Trend - 90 day user-defined trend log.
  • Easy to use, simplified recorder setting & record analysis software (Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000) included.
The TESLA 3000 multi-timeframe power system disturbance fault recorder (DFR) provides the following features:
  • Independent triggering for fault or dynamic swing recording with priority record functionality.
  • Trigger on rates & levels for quantities measured, summation, sequence components, watts, vars, frequency, impedance, harmonic & THD channels.
  • No mechanical moving parts - Non-volatile on board flash memory eliminates most common mode of failure in recorders. Each flash drive holds 1000 records
  • ProLogic - control logic statements.
  • Three communication RS-232 ports. Internal modem option.
  • Direct-connect DNP3 & Modbus SCADA communication protocols (Ethernet ready).
  • IRIG-B time stamping & sample synchronization.

PMU Module

The PMU module adds synchronized phasor measurement functionality to TESLA Model 3000 Disturbance Fault Recorders.
  • IEEE C37.118-2005 standard for synchrophasors for power systems
  • Add-on module provides PMU functionality to a new or existing installation
  • Fault recorder functionality and PMU technology integrated in a single box

CDR (Continuous Disturbance Recording) Module

  • Compliant with PRC-002-1 NERC standard for continuous disturbance recording and reporting
  • TESLA exceeds the NERC requirements of at least 960 samples/second and RMS values recorded at a rate of at least 6 records/second
  • TESLA exceeds the NERC requirements of 10 days storage of disturbance data sampled at above rates
